Tres magnifique! These beautiful Gilt Wood Carved Finials from France! Circa late 1800's. A lot of the gilting has chipped off over the years, but it does not distract from the overall beauty of these wood finals. I personal prefer it with chipping. All just ever so slightly different, the 5 large ones measure approximately 5 3/4" long, while the little one measures 2 1/2" long.

You can see them in the designer books and magazines, but they are very difficult to find outside of Europe. This pair is using a more modern column shape with a 2-tone yellow gold on beige lion design Fortuny fabric. Trim ...click for details

Made generally during the later part of the 1800's to mid 1900's. Some were made for dolls that little French girls would play with in their rooms. While others were used as cabinetmakers samples for the large pieces that could be commissioned to make. While even others were made by apprentices t ...click for details

Exquisite! A collection of 7 fragments from the Molding of an old Villa. These carved wood, gilt pieces once graced the walls of an Italian Villa. Circa 18th century! Measuring from 7 5/8" to 9 1/4" in length. These fragments would make a lovely addition to a wall grouping. Or sit one or two out on a table as an accent piece.
