Circa 1880's. The carved wood casing is lovely! The deer head has only a minor piece of antler missing (see enlargements). I purchased this exquisite piece of toile in Paris. I, and 3 other antique dealers, have dated this to be from the 1780's. It retains a lovely faded gold tones.
