A Wonderful Find! Again, wandering the tiny streets and allies of Venice, I came across a minute workroom where a lady and her daughter work 10 hours a day hand making the most remarkable European lampshades! These are the beautiful half shades that you rare see in the States, but are in the finest of houses in Europe. Each shade is made of fine cotton, damasks, and brocades. Some new, some vintage and some antique. Lovely soft velvets and gold cording make up the trim of each shade...such a skill! Little clips on the back attach to the top of the candle shaft. These shades offered here are made of the very famous Fortuny fabric, one of the best known and most expensive fabrics in the world. Prices are easily above $300 a yard! These are perfect for a pair of sconces on any wall of your home. Please see enlargements for example. Each measure 4 7/8" x 6 5/8". |
